This curriculum is built on the foundations of major educational theorists. The theories selected have been selected because of their inherent structure of foundational structure building on success and for the adaptability of the program and how it serves the learning needs of the students.
The four levels of doublebass instruction are sequential and accessible by skill level. A student that is a beginner will not be learning weekly with a senior player. The four levels will have a chance to share with each other but their learning process will have different requirements in weekly classes. The program is designed to offer the best opportunity to discover skills and build on the successes of skill acquisition and musical challenges both on their individual instrument and in ensemble work.
This program uses Backward Design knowing that the end goal for the student success is their own intrinsic value of the learning and to understand their own value and transfer process and will have a reasonable expectation that they can use that skill set on their own after graduation.
