National Curriculum: KS3
The Model Music Curriculum Gov.uk - Department for Education advice
The guidance in the three documents below:
sets out a model of how the statutory curriculum can be delivered
identifies the core concepts that are needed for pupils to progress in their study of music
demonstrates how pupils can build their understanding of these concepts from year 1 to year 9
You can use this guidance to help plan teaching the statutory music curriculum at key stages 1 to 3. The Appendices has very useful Glossary of Key Words and an amazing Musical Chronology- presented in chronological order of the year in which the piece or song was written and grouped by era in order to help pupils develop their knowledge of different musical periods and styles.
