The Sacrament of Reconciliation cleanses you of your sins.
Since the new life of grace received in Baptism does not abolish the weakness of human nature nor the inclination to sin (that is, concupiscence), Christ instituted this sacrament for the conversion of the baptized who have been separated from him by sin. - Compendium of CCC 297

Father of Mercy and God of all consolation,
Graciously look upon me and impart to me the blessing which flows from this Holy Sacrament.
Overshadow me with Your loving kindness. And let this Divine Mystery bear fruit in me.
Prayer of St Blaise
(Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
John 20:21-23
Do you find it difficult to forgive?
Do you find it impossible to love the unlovable?
Put yourself into these real-life stories.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us,
even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ
(by grace you have been saved),
Ephesians 2:4-5
There are those who say: :"I have committed too many sins, the Good Lord cannot forgive me." This is a gross blasphemy. It is the same as putting a limit on God's mercy, which has none: it is infinite. Nothing offends the Good Lod as much as doubting his mercy.
