May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
and the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
2 Corinthians 13:14
Catholic Catechism is an exposition of the Catholic teachings and serves as an introduction to the Catholic faith through the Scripture/Bible, Sacraments, and other documents.
In simple terms, the Catechism of the Catholic Church or CCC is an embodiment (in book form) of the beliefs of the Catholic faith.
The CCC originated with a recommendation made at the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops in 1985. In 1986, Pope John Paul II appointed a Commission of Cardinals and Bishops to develop a compendium of Catholic doctrine.
The Compendium is like a summary of various parts of the CCC. This simplifies the CCC for easy understanding.

Cross references - the numbers at the sides. These are related CCC paragraphs.

References - the numbers within the paragraphs. Their details are seen in the footnotes. These can be references to Scripture, encyclicals, or documents from Church Doctors or Church Fathers
The magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church is the Church's authority or office to give authentic interpretation of the word of God, "whether in its written form or in the form of Tradition". (More info)
Magister (Latin) = master
So, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him,
rooted in him and built upon him and established in the faith as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
