"T" - Technology

Technology careers cross over all STEAM fields.  An “app” has been created by someone in the technology field for just about everything; technology itself has become a critical component in all of our lives. Information technology intersects with environmental and medical science careers. Meteorologists and hydrologists use increasingly sophisticated technology to monitor the earth—whether it’s water, the weather or carbon that contributes to climate change.  Your mentee is likely very aware of the importance of technology to them (cell phone, tablet, computer).  Your role as a Mentor is to help your mentee to gain a better understanding of all the opportunities for careers in the technology field. The integration of arts in technology is easier for some to recognize. Whether it’s graphics for apps or games, and even code writing, there is a need for artistic expression and understanding.
