During multicomponent infusion a tower of single medicine syringes are combined in a manifold after which the complete mixture enters the patient through a single access point. Factors such as faulty syringe pumps, imperfect syringes, internal dead volume and the compliance of all the syringes and tubing may result in a final medicine cocktail which deviates significantly from the desired concentrations. An inline verification of the final mixture before it enters the patient is the target of this Pioneers-in-Health-Care project.
