The weather is getting warmer. A good, clear day, nice for sailing, with a fleet of 15 boats, but scores have been separated by class, so check both classes.

Saturday 28th August Round 3 IOM Handicap

8 boats for the 3rd IOM Hancdicap event.
A very competive and keen days racing.
Thanks to Ian Watson and Lis Larsen for scoring across the line and Ian Robertson for sorting the handicaps out after each race.
Congrats to Mark Jents who won on a countback from Ian Lobley with Gary Pryor coming in 3rd.
A very enjoyable day in the sun.

Combined results of DF95 / IOM Scratch event

13 entrants today, 7 IOMs and 6 DF95s. We started from the same start line this round, as you can see from the results.

Very keen and close racing with only 4 points between the 3 placegetters in the IOM class. Starts were very keenly contested with at least 2 general recalls in the mix.

Ken Godwin sailed John Heards IOM for the 1st time and finished 4th overall.

Thanks to Shelley Heard for doing a great job as the finisher and John for doing the PRO job.

Racing started at 12.30 and finished at 3pm, with 12 races completed.

Results IOM - Ian Roberton 23 pts, 2nd Mark Jents 25 pts and 3rd Doug Wells 27 pts.

DF95 - 1st Ian Lobley 74 pts, 2nd Ian Ashe 84 pts and 3rd John Heard 85 pts.

A very enjoyable day.

10th April 2021 - Handicap Round 2

9 boats today and 11 races. Nice sailing conditions. Murray Walker the overall winner with a very consistent days racing. After his 2 “drops” his worst score was a 4th. Doug Wells only 2 points behind followed by Ian Gordon.

Thanks to John Heard for once again doing the Race Officers job and sorting out the handicaps after each race and Shelley for scoring and starting the races. (and taking the photos).

We welcomed 2 new sailors to the IOM Championship Competition today, Mark Jents and Martin Hillier. Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable days sailing.

6th February 2021 - Handicap Round 1

10 races today in very light changeable winds.

John Heard was the consistent sailor with 4 wins, 2 seconds and 2 third places for a total of 14 points, followed by

Ian Robertson on 20 points and Gary Pryor on 21.

As there was no BBQ today we started at midday and finished at 2.30pm.

I think everyone had an enjoyable days racing.

Thanks to Shelley for doing the scoring and John Heard for organizing courses and handicaps.

Dont forget next Saturday is DF65 tuning day starting at 10.30, with a BBQ lunch.

The good news is that Norm has decided to let the moths out of the purse, the BBQ will be a freebie :-)
