Abstract: The VLBI technique provides the highest angular resolution imaging in astronomy. Additionally, maser emission at various spectral line transitions provide information on the physical conditions and kinematics in their environments. Combining these, maser VLBI can deliver milliarcsecond spatio-kinematics of targets. In this presentation I will show the results of multi-epoch maser VLBI observational results of an accretion burst which occurred in high-mass protostar G358-MM1. Ultimately the combined data set revealed a Keplerian disk with 4 spiral arms, indicative of accretion disk gravitational instability. This unique discovery was obtained by a technique we called ‘heatwave mapping’ which utilizes the propagation of accretion driven radiation to sparsely sample the disk at various radii.
