Pre SOESOS 1 st Youth Exchange in Cyprus Activities from Romanian team
Hello! My name is Matei-Griorescu Diana-Ioana and I am the leader of the Romanian team. Its members are 5 students: Ciutacu Alexandru, Matei Karla, Moise Roxana, Marin Bianca, Onofrei Alessandra. After we find out that we can join this project, we tried to involve this opportunity and to create a kind of an impact on our society. During this project, our target was to realize each activity together, to highlight all the ideas.
First of all, we have needed to realize our logo, to make it be original and suggestive. Alex was the one who create more logos by using a special application and we have discussed which one is the best. It was a pleasure surprise to win the competition and to find out that we are appreciate by other countries for our work. Following photos are our logos that we send to the competition. Our second activity has been represented by creating some posters which bring into the light our perspectives regarding environmental issues. We tried to raise some information and pictures about the world we live in and how to protect it. Posters can be fount in the webpage of the program SOESOS.
Another interesting activity has been conducted in nature. We thought it will be useful to team up and prepare ourselves to go to the most damaged areas of our city to collect the trash and to ask the citizens which are the causes of the pollution. We have taken with us garbage bag , gloves and a questionnaire. We have established from the beginning the places with a huge rage of pollution from Calarasi. These are the beaches and the forests where habitants go for parties or for a barbeque. Here we have met some fishermen who face everyday a lot of difficult situations such as dirty waters and sick fishes. They have agreed to give us some explications regarding the principals factors which destroy our habitat. The main answer of ‘What is the enemy of the nature?’ was the human being. A scary conclusion, right? Also, their solution for this situation is developing education by involving the government in this problem. They have congratulated us for our attitude and they helped us to collect all the trash.
In the conclusion that day was an important lesson for us as we found out that the world we live in is our home and we should protect it more than anything else, that right now we and our activities are the most dangerous factors and this is a major problem for humanity. We need to embrace this kind of projects to show everybody that we still can change something .
