SOESOS Advance Planning Visit

Partners of SOESOS met in Pissouri from 27^th of April to 29^th of April for the Advance Planning Visit. During the Visit partners had the chance to discuss about various aspects of the project, they visited the camping place where the 1^st Youth Exchange will take place and had a first touch with Cyprus tradition!

On Friday 27^th of April all participants arrived in Cyprus and transferred in Pissouri where they stayed until Sunday 29^th. At the evening partners had dinner in a traditional tavern in the centre of the village where traditional show with dances and tricks took place. People enjoyed the show a lot and several of them danced with the dancer in traditional and international rhythm!

On Saturday partners had a long discussion about the whole project process. Project manager made a presentation about the project including the activities that will take place before and after both youth exchanges. Partners made final comments on preparation activities which include lectures from experts, researches about pollution in their area, creation of posters and preparation of articles. Furthermore, partners agreed on the rules of the logo contest of the project. Awarded logo will be used on all formal documents of the project, on promotional material and will be promoted through several activities hosted by all partners.

After the presentation of the activities, budget of the project was discussed. Partners analysed the grand awarded to the project through braking it into the several activities which are planned to take place. After the budget analysis partners discussed the schedule of activities of the 1^st Youth Exchanges. Partners stated that it would be very interesting for the participants if they had the chance to visit Nicosia and see the borders accompanied with a presentation about the Cyprus issue.

Later on partners started their journey to the camping place. On their way they passed also from Petra tou Romiou (the place where due to Greek Mythology Aphrodite was born) and they went to the beach where they like it so much. Also as they were going to the camping place they stopped to a small village “Ayia Mavri” for a brake and then they went to the camping place in Platres. There the director of the camping place welcomed them and took them a tour in the place. Partners got aware of the facilities available in the camping which include basket and volley field, place for table games, toilets and changing rooms, rooms for facilitators or youth leaders and tents for youngsters. It was also explained that in the camp there is a first aid room, speakers which cover the whole place and kiosk.

After the visit to the camping place partners visited Troodos square and tasted some traditional products. Then they returned to Limassol where they visited Limassol Marina where they had a walk. At the evening they returned to Pissouri where they had launch in a traditional tavern and then visited a local pub.

On Sunday partners got ready for departure ready to meet the participants and start the preparation activities. Everyone shown their excitement about the project and they are looking forward for the 1^st Youth Exchange.
