Our study group had come together (December 2023 to December 2024) to study Silo's ‘Contributions to Thought’ in order to understand them. In the process, the idea arose to develop a contribution that would make it easier for others to access the ‘Historiological Discussions’ : a summary of what has been studied, but also an overview and information about the authors mentioned by Silo.
We welcome feedback and corrections to the information we have compiled.
We are members of the Study and Reflection Park Schlamau near Berlin.
The Study and Reflection Parks are places (about 35 worldwide) that anyone can use to go deeper into themselves and, as the name suggests, to study and reflect. The main focus of our studies is on the human being and its development and the possibility of building a non-violent world.
On this website, you will find information pages on the thinkers and writers mentioned, with the corresponding quote from the Historiological Discussions, some biographical data, a list of their main works and our interpretation of why Silo mentioned them. There are different ways to get there:
If you click on the arrow next to the ‘Thinkers’ tab, you will find the thinkers listed alphabetically.
The timeline is located under the ‘Timeline’ tab. The link to the map file is located on each slide.
The ‘Chapters’ tab shows which thinker is mentioned in which chapter. If there is no mention, no philosopher is mentioned in that chapter.
