Renting out my car on Hiyacar outside a closed loop - my experience

I loaned out my car from early September to mid October 2021, making it available to people in the closed loop and to people on public Hiyacar. As I was experimenting with living without a car, my car was always available. The below are the list of people who borrowed it publicly during the time I had it available for loan (i.e. not the people within the closed loop).

I found it easy and enjoyable to loan my car out - it was really no hassle at all. I was experimenting so I lent it out at the bottom end of the price range and made approximately £200 over about 8 weeks. The shortest rentals were a couple of hours, the longest was a weekend.

•Local lady going to London to pick up a set of artwork by a friend of hers

•A journalist going to London to surprise his fiancé by visiting a friend of hers

•A woman picking up a friend from LHR

•MBA student going to check out housing for him and his pregnant wife

•A&E doctors from London visiting the Cotswolds for a weekend break

•An Italian man picking up his sister from LHR at 5am

•A man in Headington picking up his brother from Luton in the evening
