SPECIAL RULES

Games should be played in 4 quarters. The length of quarters should be between 6 or 8 minutes.

A stopped clock will be used during all the games. The 24/14-sec shot clock is mandatory for all Categories. Category A and B boys and Category A girls must have two referees per game, as well as a qualified 24/14-sec official. Only man-to-man defence is allowed for Category C and D SGIS competitions.

Maximum point difference in group and play off stages, but not the final should be in place. The maximum point difference should be a maximum of + 20 per 4x 6min game or +30 per 4x 8min game for all categories.

Fair play and sportsmanship within the maximum point difference is essential for Coaches to follow. Coaches cannot run up scores when they clearly are ahead by more than the maximum point difference. Once the stated maximum point difference has been incurred no team is allowed to press from over the halfway line.

RESULTS

At the end of one game if the score is tied, play one overtime of 2 minutes for 4x 6min games, or 3 minutes for 4x 8min games, and the stopped clock will be used. At the end of this time, if the game is still tied, they should play another overtime until one team scores.

Games that go into overtime will count as a victory or loss for the teams involved but the point differential for both teams will be zero. Net points differential will not go over a maximum of + 20 per 4x 6min game or +30 per 4x 8min game.
