Carltonization (1998-present)

Carlton began to Carltonize the ITV regions in 1998. Carlton also began to Carltonize stores, video game companies, movie companies, other TV channels, etc. This excludes Isle of Wight Television, Roblox Television, Orkney Television and Television Mancherene since they already brought by Carlton.

Carlton already brought Westcountry and Central, and the fourth region to join the Carltonization is Anglia. Anglia was forced to drop its flag logo and replace it with the 1996 Carlton idents. On 6th September 1999, Anglia was renamed into Carlton for the East Region or Carlton East.

Then Border joined the Carltonization by replacing their ident with the 1996 Carlton idents, with no sign of the bowl of chopsticks logo. On 6th September 1999, Border was renamed into Carlton for South Scotland and Cumbria or Carlton Cumbria/Carlton South Scotland.

Channel Television joined the Carltonization by replacing its stripes logo with the 1996 Carlton idents. On 6th September 1999, Channel was replaced with Carlton for the Channel Islands or Carlton Channel.

Grampian retired its Scotland flag logo with the 1996 Carlton idents, then on 6th September 1999, Grampian was replaced with Carlton for Northern Scotland or Carlton North Scotland.

Even Granada didn't escape, with Granada retiring its G logo and replacing it with the 1996 Carlton idents. On 6th September 1999, Granada was replaced with Carlton for the North West or Carlton North West.

Carlton then brought HTV, so the old logo was replaced with the 1996 Carlton idents for both HTV Wales and HTV West. On 6th September 1999, HTV was replaced with Carlton for Wales and Carlton for the West Region, or Carlton Wales and Carlton West. Sometimes for both regions, the idents would say just HTV.

Carlton brought Lincolnshire Television, and the LTV logo was retired with the 1996 Carlton idents. On 6th September 1999, Lincolnshire TV was replaced with Carlton for Lincolnshire and North Norfolk or Carlton Lincolnshire.

Even LWT got Carltonized, with the idents being the 1996 Carlton idents. On 6th September 1999, LWT was merged into Carlton.

Meridian was next, and the station retired its sun logo with the 1996 Carlton idents. On 6th September 1999, Meridian was replaced with Carlton for the South Region or Carlton South.

This is the Carltonized ident for Rediffusion, if they didn't merge ABC into Thames in 1967.

This is the Carltonized ident for ATV, if they didn't rebrand to Central in 1981.

Then Carlton has taken over Scottish, retiring its thistle logo. On 6th September 1999, Scottish was replaced with Carlton for Central Scotland or Carlton Central Scotland.

The weekend region of AWT was also taken over, then being merged with Carlton for Central Scotland/Carlton Central Scotland.

Westcountry was already a Carlton region, but didn't yet adopt the 1996 idents, being replaced with Carlton for the South West Region or Carlton South West.

This is the Carltonized Southern ident, if Southern didn't lose their franchise to TVS in 1981.

It is possible that Thames would have existed alongside Carlton, so this is the Carltonized Thames ident.

This is the Carltonized TSW ident if their franchise didn't lose to Westcountry in 1992.

This is the Carltonized TVS ident if TVS didn't lose it's franchise to Meridian in 1992.

This is the Carltonized TWW ident if TWW didn't lose their franchise to HTV in 1967.

Tyne Tees was brought by Carlton and replaced its TTTV logo with the 1996 idents. On 6th September 1999, Tyne Tees was replaced with Carlton for the North East Region or Carlton North East.

Carlton then brought Antarctica Television, to be replaced with Carlton for the British Antarctica Territory or Carlton Antarctica on 6th September 1999.

Then Antarctica Isles was brought by Carlton, to be replaced with Carlton for the Antarctica Isles or Carlton Antarctica Isles on 6th September 1999.

Arctic was then brought by Carlton to be replaced with Carlton for the British Arctic Territory or Carlton Arctic in 6th September 1999.

UTV retired their logo to be replaced with the 1996 idents, being renamed Carlton for Northern Ireland or Carlton NI on 6th September 1999. Some idents would have "ULSTER" instead of "UTV".

Here is the Carltonized ident for Victoria Television if Border lost its franchise in 1967.

Carlton was getting bigger and brought WCT, to be replaced with Carlton for the Isle of Man or Carlton IoM on 6th September 1999.

Here is the Carltonized ident for Westward, if they didn't lose their franchise to TSW in 1981.

Other regions that were affected by the Carltonization, including those that Carlton have purchased already.

End of the line, Yorkshire Television. They retired their chevron logo with the 1996 Carlton idents, renamed into Carlton for Yorkshire or Carlton Yorkshire on 6th September 1999.

With all regions being brought by Carlton, the network also adopted the package, but being replaced with Carlton Independent Television on 6th September 1999.
