“When are you going to get that I would amputate a limb if you asked me to? It’s all okay. Whatever you want, whenever you want it, it’s yours. I’m yours.”
This book was so cute—I’m melting over here 😍😍 After the disasters of the last two Necessary Evil books, this was exactly the kind of story I needed. This new series focuses on Jericho’s boys, as the series name suggests. They’re not strangers to us since we’ve known them for several books now and have seen them from time to time since their debut in Moonstruck.
This book follows our blue-haired Russian mechanic, Arsen, as he finds the love of his life. He’s sent to eliminate a target like always, but just as he’s about to leave, he finds a young boy trapped in a secret room. The boy, Ever, has spent almost his entire life with his captor. He knows very little about the outside world and never had the chance to figure out who he is or be himself. In his current state, Ever wouldn’t survive on his own. Seeing how dire the situation is, Arsen can’t leave him behind and decides to take Ever with him.
Ever was the cutest thing in the world—an angel that must be protected at all costs 😇😇 From the moment Arsen found him, I was completely in love. He was this small, lovable creature that I just wanted to wrap in the biggest hug. He immediately triggered my protective instincts 💕💕 Despite every horrible thing he had been through, he managed to keep his kindness and goodness. He was scared and confused about what Arsen’s intentions might be and what his future would look like, which made his journey even more emotional.
Arsen was an incredible character too. He was patient, sensitive, and so considerate with Ever. They were truly a match made in heaven. I loved how carefully Arsen handled Ever’s trauma and how he showed him that he deserved love and safety 😭😭 The streaming scenes were absolutely adorable—I was giggling and smiling the entire time. Arsen had his own traumas too, and just as he was helping Ever heal, Ever was healing Arsen as well. They truly became each other’s remedy 🥰🥰
“Home. Ever had a home. Well, he would have a home with Arsen, wherever they ended up. Hopefully back in the apartment over the garage, but if not, somewhere else. Arsen was his home. Arsen was his happily ever after.”
This series is heavily intertwined with the Necessary Evil series, so if you haven’t read those books you might get a little confused by the number of side characters and cameos. But if you have read them, those moments are actually very fun and meaningful 🤣🤣 I especially loved how everyone treated Ever—with so much care, patience, and gentleness. They accepted him wholeheartedly and gave him a place he could finally call home. I love these characters so much.
The crime plots becoming repetitive is something I’ve been complaining about for the last few books. They aren’t bad, but they’ve started to feel very familiar. Because of that, when I started this series I decided not to focus too much on that aspect—and honestly, it worked for me. For me it was just background to the characters this time 👍👍
And I absolutely have to mention how happy I am that Atticus and Jericho adopted the boys from the container. I’m over the moon about it. They’re going to be incredible parents 😎😎 I truly enjoyed this book so much. Ever and Arsen are exactly the kind of couple I love to read about. Highly recommended. See you in the next book’s review 👋👋
