The Robert Hunter Series is a dark crime thriller series that follows homicide detective Robert Hunter as he investigates some of the most brutal and disturbing serial killer cases. Set in Los Angeles, the series dives deep into criminal psychology, focusing not only on solving crimes but also on understanding the twisted minds behind them. Each book presents a new case, often more gruesome and complex than the last, with high stakes and intense investigations.
From what I’ve experienced so far, this series feels like a perfect match for readers who want something darker, more realistic, and psychologically intense. One of the strongest aspects for me is how human the main characters feel—especially Hunter. He’s not some emotionless genius; he struggles, reacts, and carries the weight of his job, which made me connect with him so much more. I also really enjoyed the fast pacing and short chapters—they make the books incredibly addictive. The only downside is how graphic some scenes can get, which might not be for everyone. But overall, I’m really excited to continue this series and see more of Hunter’s journey.
