Albion station opened on 11 July 1985 by Hon. Don Lane who was the Minister for Transport. in 1999 and two extra platforms were added. Albion was named after the homonymous suburb of Albion which was derived after the latin word 'albus', meaning white after the local quarry stone.
Albion station has four platforms consisting of two side platforms and an island platform. Platforms one and two are for Airport, Doomben and Shorncliffe line services and platforms three and four are not in use as they were for Caboolture and Sunshine Coast line services which from 4 October 2016 are now running express from Petrie to Bowen Hills stopping only at Northgate and Eagle Junction coinciding with the opening of the Redcliffe Peninsula Line opening which don't stop at Albion either. Redcliffe Peninsula line trains serve all stations from Petrie to Northgate.
Albion station has four entrances. Two on Albion Road on either side, one on Hudson Road and one on Mawarra Street.
Albion does have disability access however assistance is required due to the steep ramps.
There are bus stops nearby on Sandgate Road. The connecting bus services are 306, 320 and 322.
