Cannon Hill station opened in 1888 at the same time as the line. On 17 June 1912, the line from Park Road to Murarrie was duplicated. The line was electrified in 1983. On 15 July 1996, the Fishermans Island line opened to the north of the station.
Cannon Hill station is named after the homonymous suburb of Cannon Hill. It is believed to have been named by a surveyor who noted two tree stumps resembling a cannon.
Cannon Hill station two side platforms. Platform 1 is for Cleveland, terminating and Northgate services and platform 2 is for Shorncliffe services. The Fishermans Island line is located to the north of the station.
Cannon Hill station has two entrances. One is the carpark on Barrack and Armstrong Roads and the other is the carpark on Andrews Street
Cannon Hill doesn’t have any disability access however assistance is required due to the level crossing.
