Believe Me Or Not

The World talks to me.

Does it speak to you?

Does it tell you it'll help you do whatever it is that you want to?

Nature speaks to me - does she speak to you?

Does she explain that you can thrive naturally like all her children do?

The sun talks to me - does it talk to you?

Does it say that the heat will help to ripen you?

The atmosphere speaks to me - does it speak to you?

Does it remind you it is only a barrier, that can be broken through?

The land talks to me - does it talk to you?

Does it assure you that wherever you dare to step it insists you do?

The sea speaks to me - does it speak to you?

Does it whisper something to the effect of being dark, deep, and cool?

And Time talks to me - does he to you?

Does he encourage you to keep in mind that he is forever, but not you?

But my God does not speak to me.

Does yours talk with you?

No, I never hear a word in return, but I still believe there's a listener.

Rather in a zoo as a prisoner, or free to roam and be a visitor, I will always be a voice.

And that certain Who, will always be the missing link to vouch if my words are true.
