Schedule:
Friday, January 23, 2026 - (No backpacks or laptops are needed for this event and students will miss school this day as an Excused absence.)
7:00am - Come to SCMS as usual (bus/kiss and ride).
7:25am - Report to the Band Room with instrument and accessories. (Valve oil, reeds, cork grease, pencils, etc.)
7:35am - Leave SCMS for Texas Donuts or a fast food Breakfast place (like McDonald's). Food is paid for.
8:15am - Leave for Meridian High School from our Breakfast location.
8:45am – Arrival to Meridian High School.
9:00 am – 12:00 pm - Rehearsal on Stage.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Lunch provided by Meridian High School (Sandwich, cookies, potato chips).
1:00 pm -5:00 pm - Rehearsal in MHS Band Room.
Saturday, January 24, 2026 - (No backpacks or laptops are needed for this event.)
2:15pm - Arrive to Meridian High School with instruments and accessories (Valve oil, reeds, cork grease, pencils, etc.).
2:30-5:00 pm - Rehearsal at MHS.
5:00 pm – Concert (Parents, friends, & neighbors are invited to the performance.)
Transportation:
It is the responsibility of the parents to get their child to and from Meridian High School on Friday and Saturday.
If you would like, I (Mr. Niehoff) can take 6 students in my van after they arrive to school on Friday morning. Please let me know if you would like for me to do this on Friday morning. Students would need to be picked up on Friday afternoon at 5pm from Meridian as well as dropped off in the afternoon and picked up on Saturday after the concert.
Directions:
All students and directors will enter through DOOR ONE of Meridian High School. The middle and high school are co-located. (Door One has a black mustang horse statue and is in front of the football field) The band directors will be receiving students and directing them to rehearsal locations from door one of the high school. (Not the middle school.)
Rehearsal Location:
Rehearsals will alternate between the HS Band Room which is located at L06, lower level (two floors down) and the stage which is located immediately to your right after you enter Door 1 at street level. To find the HS Band Room, walk down four flights of stairs, take a hard right and a left. There will be a sign to the Band Room to the right.
Concert Dress:
Young men should wear slacks, coats, and ties with dress shoes. Young ladies should wear something "nice" and "dressy".
Fee:
Please send your $45 participation fee as soon as you can and give it to Mr. Niehoff. (MSB, Checks - made out to SCMS, and Cash are accepted.)

Permission Slip:
Please send back your signed Permission Slip by Tuesday, January 20th. I will put together all Emergency Care Forms to take with me to the event should the need arise.
