LIB795 Fieldwork in School Librarianship included culminating activities that required me to synthesize the information I have acquired throughout the entire library program, such as creating a professional learning chart of beneficial resources for school librarians.
Creating the Professional Learning Network (PLN) chart showcases my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. The PLN chart serves as a curated collection of resources, tools, and professional networks essential for staying current in school librarianship. By regularly updating and accessing these resources, I remain connected to evolving best practices and innovations in the field, ensuring that I grow as a teacher-librarian.

5D: Candidates gain the skills to provide instructional and professional leadership, including professional development, which can positively impact the school library program and student achievement.
During LIB720, Selection & Organization of Learning Resources, I created a collection development section for our library's policies and procedures manual.
Writing a policies and procedures manual for my school made me feel more like a professional and instructional leader, because it required me to examine our current procedures and then compare them to best practices. I was then able to compile effective library procedures on material selection and the consideration of content in materials based on the Library Bill of Rights. Having policies driven by this bill will help me to lead teachers and colleagues in making sure our students have equitable access to information and ideas. Equitable access to library materials can greatly increase student achievement by giving students opportunities to learn from a variety of resources. Ultimately, this can lead to a positive impact on the entire school community as well as the community at large.
