On March 19, 2018, SCHV presented on the guiding principles of SCHV mission, area goals, the importance of providing parent-to-parent support, parent-to-professional support, understanding Bias. 

2018 SCHV Hosts Camp Wonderhands Family Reception

As part of efforts to build community among families with Deaf & Hard of Hearing (D/HH) children, SCHV provided the over 65 families of Camp Wonder Hands 2018 light refreshments and an opportunity to connect.

2018 D/HH Back to School Bash

For the third year in a row, SCHV was pleased to co-sponsor the deaf and hard of hearing Back to School Bash with SC Beginning’s, SC Association of the Deaf, Irmo Fire Department, and Seven Oaks Park at Seven Oaks Park on July 22nd

2018 Carolina Carillon Christmas Parade

SC Hands and Voices is pleased to have partnered with Edith White family and staff of ABC Bail Bonding for the 2018 Carolina Carillon on December 1st.  Our SC Hands and Voices families and friends enjoyed the fellowship and dressing up in festive clothes while ASL signing Rocking Around the Christmas Tree for parade participants.

2017 D/HH Back to School Bash

For the second year in a row, SCHV was pleased to co-sponsor The deaf and hard of hearing Back to School Bash with SC Beginning’s, SC Association of the Deaf, Irmo Fire Department, and Seven Oaks Park at Seven Oaks Park on July 22nd

2017 Joyful Noise Foundation 

SCHV Board Member, Andrea Hemingway supported the Joyful Walk at Lake Carolina Town Center in May.  The walk was a fundraiser sponsored by the Joyful Noise Foundation for the purpose of promoting health while helping raise funds for services to support the D/deaf and hard of hearing community. 

2017 SCHV Outreach Project

SCHV donated over 300 goodie bags for participants attending various D/HH camps across the state. These goodie bags included various gifts and activity sheets for the campers such as pencils, erasers, bracelets, stickers, and game activity sheets. As well, information about some of the resources SC Hands & Voices offersand how parents may learn more.
