SC Hands & Voices (SCHV) is a non-profit parent-led organization that supports families with children who are D/deaf, hard-of-hearing (DHH), or deaf/blind (DB). SCHV is expanding its family support services by co-hosting the 1st Annual D/deaf, hard-of-hearing, Deaf Blind, Deaf Plus Family Conference on September 15-16, 2023.

Why Attend?

• Learn about services and resources available to D/deaf, hard-of-hearing and deaf/blind children.

Friday, September 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - FREE SCHV Super Mingle! Family games, pizza dinner, and special performance from Sunshine 2.0 - a professional traveling theatre troupe presenting in voice and in ASL based at Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID).  

Saturday, September 16, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Full-day in-person conference.
$50 / family.  Save your spot with a $10 deposit and pay $40 balance later, prior to event.  Scholarships available.    

Free childcare available for ages 12 months - 3 years old. Activities ages 3-5 years.

Sessions will be offered for both parents and students (5k and up) on a variety of topics including diagnosis, communication methods, financial support, early intervention, elementary and secondary education learning strategies, advocacy, transitions, social/emotional well-being and more!

Seeking: Speakers and Workshop Leaders

We’re seeking professionals and community leaders who can either (1) present workshops for parents or students or (2) volunteer to support conference activities. Also, we're seeking parent and student role models who can share personal stories during panel discussions. If you’re interested, please complete our request for proposals.
