Planned activities
Note: This list is a very brief overview. More details will be provided at the adult attendee meeting.
Orientation:
Overnighters: Friday night before camp fire. ALL campers - girls and adults - are required to attend this important safety meeting.
Day Users: Orientation is Saturday morning, right after we get everyone checked in. ALL day users - girls and adults - are required to attend this important safety meeting.
Camp fire/skits: Friday night, after orientation, includes s'mores, songs and skits (sign up when you arrive on Friday).
Closing ceremony/SWAPS: Sunday morning we will have a Scouts Own (closing ceremony). Day users will do their closing ceremony on Saturday before they leave. We'll do a SWAPS exchange at the closing ceremony. For more info about SWAPS, you can google SWAPS - there's tons of info out there. SWAPS are optional, but girls usually love doing them. They should make these ahead of time.
Archery: Archery is available for Brownies and up. Space is limited and advance signup is required.
Other: We are planning to add additional activities that will require advance signups. We will also have crafts, hiking, badge ideas, and other activities that you can do on your own schedule during the day on Saturday.
NOTE: The pool will NOT be available, it's too early in the year (they open it sometime in May depending on weather).
What to bring
Gear: Sleeping bag, pillow, etc. for sleeping. Cabins have mattresses which can be covered with a single fitted sheet (optional). Each girl must provide her own refillable water bottle and flashlight. Here is a sample packing list.
Clothing: All attendees must wear closed-toe shoes for safety. A warm jacket is recommended as nights outside can get cold. Otherwise, bring whatever comfortable clothing you want! We recommend leaving GS vests/tunics/sashes at home so they don't get dirty and/or lost.
