Day 1 Formative Tasks
Listening:
( /30): "Listen-look-underline-number": For the text,《方言地图》, the teacher will ask a series of questions in Mandarin. Understand the question, find the information in the text, underline it and write the number of the prompt onto your copy of the text. Here are the study videos: 一,二,三。Here are question videos to prepare: 一,二。
Reading:
( /24): Choose three lines from the assigned text sections to write out in pinyin with tone marks and English.
( /6): From the TOK questions document, choose one TOK language question to write a reflection in English (100+ words) about usage of words within the assigned text sections.
Day 2 Formative Tasks
Writing:
( /24): From the TOK questions document, choose one TOK content question to handwrite a reflection in Chinese characters (letter format 书信 shūxìn, 130+ characters) about the information in the assigned sections of the text. The text will be provided while you write.
( /6): Following your Chinese handwritten essay, choose a TOK language question to write a reflection in English about the Chinese handwritten essay you just completed.

Day 1 Summative Tasks
Listening:
( /30): "Listen-look-underline-number": For two texts,《方言地图》 + 《贝币》, the teacher will ask a series of questions in Mandarin. Understand the question, find the information in the text, underline it and write the number of the prompt onto your copy of the text.
Reading:
( /24): You will receive copies of both texts (see two texts in Listening, above), with many words and phrases underlined and numbered. Choose four of the provided underlined words or phrases from each text (total = 8). Draw a simple sketch to represent the underlined concepts you chose, ensuring the numbers match between each sketch and underlined concept. Keep your sketches simple and fast, but accurate enough for the teacher to verify that you know what each chosen underlined concept in the text means.
( /6): From the TOK questions document, choose one TOK content question to write a reflection in English (100+ words) about info in one of the two assigned texts of your choosing.

( /24): (160+ characters, not including question) From the TOK questions document, choose one TOK content question, or, optionally, one unit question, to handwrite a reflection in Chinese characters (essay format 议论文 yì lùnwén) about the information in one or both texts. The texts will be provided while you write.
( /6): Following your Chinese handwritten essay, choose a TOK language question to write a reflection in English about a word, phrase, or chengyu in one of the two assigned texts.
(There will be no speaking section for the Unit 4 first summative)
