文本 wénběn "texts"：《招聘》 + 《李子柒》

Day 1

1. Listening:

( /30分 fēn "points"): Listen to audio-only clips from the 《李子柒》video. Transcribe into standard Mandarin pinyin (10pts) with tone marks (10pts) and English (10pts) for all assigned sections (see document). You should watch the explainer videos at the top of the document, linked above, as well as read through the pinyin by pasting the text into Google Translate, where you can also hear a different voice read to train your ears for this text.

2. Reading:

( /30分): In《招聘》, transcribe the pinyin (10分) tone marks (10分) and English for every line.

Day 2

3. Writing:

( /30分, scored on criteria A, B, C; format: email/电邮 here, body = 30 多字 zì "characters")

Choose one unit question above. Answer your unit question using information from all 文本 listed above. 

You will not have any of the 文本 at the time of writing, but you can bring a single sheet of paper with your own hand-copied sentences from the 文本, on one side only. Your single sheet of paper cannot have anything other than direct quotes from the main 文本 listed above. The goal of making this "cheat sheet" is to promote learning through practicing reading, understanding, and thinking about the sentences in the texts you intend to use in your writing.

Day 1 Summative Tasks

1. Listening:

( /30分): In 《华人姓氏1》, where the 1 refers to just the first question and response, listen to the teacher's questions in Mandarin and underline the information in the text that answers the teacher's question. Add a number near your marking to match the number of the question.

2. Reading: 

( /30分): ( /30分): Look at a copy of 《今日住客》, read questions about the sign, and use text from the sign to write answers to the questions.

Day 2 Summative Task

3. Writing:

( /30分, scored on criteria A, B, C; format: email/电邮 here, body = 35 多字 zì "characters")

Choose any TOK question (in Unit 1 Resources, above). Answer your TOK question using information from all 文本 listed above.

You will not have any of the 文本 at the time of writing, but you can bring a single sheet of paper with your own hand-copied sentences from the 文本, on one side only. • The unit question in Chinese characters and English

• Images representing the information in the assigned texts that you want to present about

• Minimal text, but Chinese character labels are okay

     You can present looking at a notecard with individual words written in Chinese characters, but not with any whole phrases or sentences to read from.
