Josh is a bioinformatician whose research interests include comparative genomics, evolution, and the molecular basis of speciation. Josh received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from The University of Vermont in 2006, and completed his Master’s in Environmental Science in Ruth Phillips lab at WSU-V with a focus on evolutionary genetics in 2012. He has worked in a variety of labs between Portland State University, WSUV, and Reed College and has experience studying omics datasets across a wide variety of clades, including humans, fish, birds, plants, and bacterial species.
Outside of work, Josh plays Japanese koto in a number of bands and gets out into nature as much as he can.
