Statement for delayed POVs at Destination VPC:
In accordance with the terms of the contract between USTRANSCOM and IAL, IAL is required to notify all Service Members when their POV has arrived at the Destination VPC and to send written notifications after 21 and 45 days. These notices will advise Service Members to make arrangements to pick their POV to avoid the abandonment process. IAL is aware that many Service Members will not be able to pick up their POV until current travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 crisis have been lifted. Service members will not be charged for storage of their POV, nor will their POVs be considered abandoned as a result of these travel restrictions, however, IAL is required to continue sending the notifications. Once the travel restrictions are lifted, IAL will notify you if or when the timeline for initiating abandonment procedures is reinstated.
