Susan B Judaica Lesson 4/28

ZOOM- Thursday, April 30, 5:15 pm: Pre-Boarding Information - click this link to join!

As you know (or should ☺ know – there’s still time to catch up!), our online lessons kicked off on March 17 with a בראשית highlight reel. Our next three lessons focused on the ancient yet still universally popular holiday of Passover. Last week we looked at the modern “high holiday” period occurring in Israel right now. And last Friday, I texted you with a Shabbat message. On Thursday, we’ll talk about how our history, holidays, and rituals can help us in times of challenge.

To make the most of our time together, you must answer the following questions. As usual, you can send your answers to susan.bourla@gmail.com. Please have a copy of them on hand for Thursday’s discussion.

But first, check this out for a totally zooming quarantine greeting.

Where do you spend your time – break it down by percentages or fractions – be specific – not just “home” but where in your home?

What do you miss most (aside from Thursday Vav class)?

What has been your biggest surprise(s)?

Where have you found unexpected joy(s)?

What do you look forward to the most each day?

What has been your biggest challenge(s)?

What do you do every day: break it down by percentages or fractions - be specific – not just “school” but classroom sessions, homework, tests(?)

Do you have a daily routine or schedule? What is it?

What have your emotions been? What are you most concerned about – on a daily basis and in the near future (like 6 months) and far into the future?

Have you participated in any holiday (Jewish, non-Jewish) or Shabbat observance?

Are you grateful for or appreciative of anything you didn’t necessarily think about before?

Have you been in touch with people you don’t usually touch base with?

Whom do you spend your time talking, zooming, FaceTiming with? (details)

Have you or your parents (as far as you know) been in touch with any RSNS people, clergy, online programming, etc.?

What communities are you plugged into during this time?
