Allison Hebrew Lesson 3/31

Shalom Bet Families & Students!

Here we are at Virtual Hebrew School Week #3. We would love to hear from you in any way you feel comfortable. You can reach out by email and we can set up a call, or text me: 917-494-1642. I've been FaceTiming with my Gan Shalom students and its been really fun seeing their faces and having some type of connection. You and I can FaceTime too and/or you can FaceTime with Sophia, just tell me when you're free!

I would like to have a Zoom call before the first Passover seder and was wondering if everyone was free sometime in the afternoon (around 3:00 pm) on Tuesday, April 7th. Please let me know via email or text.

TODAY's LESSON

So.....you saw some words last week that are part of our Passover celebration, and now I bring to you some questions we ask at our Passover seder. FOUR to be exact! We call them the Four Questions. As you watch this video, try to recognize as many letters as you can, and write them down either while watching it, or after you watch the video. It's helpful to watch the video more than one time.

Here is a picture with the 4 questions that you can use this to follow along with the video.

These 4 questions are included in our Passover book, called the Haggadah. Here is what the word Haggadah looks like in Hebrew:

הגדה - how many letters do you recognize? Ask someone in your house if you have a haggadah to look at. This is what we follow throughout our whole seder. Practice writing this word.

During the seder, 10 plagues are mentioned, which are 10 curses that God placed on Pharaoh in Egypt to make his life harder and force him to free our slaves. Take a look and again, try to name as many of these letters as you can! You can take a video of yourself to show me what you know, print this out and mark it up with the names of the letters and text or email a picture of it back to me, or we can set up a FaceTime call......your choice!! Please also pick a few (or all) plagues and practice writing them,

Until next week! We MISS seeing your faces!!

xxx,
