Functional English

(Vocabulary in Uses)

This course focuses on the daily used English skills; speaking and listening as well as vocabulary and pronunciation. At the end of the course, the students would have improved in English comprehension and could communicate in English effectively both in formal and informal settings. Students will have a chance to practice their English through discussions, role-play and teamwork.

Objectives:

• Use English in everyday situations

• Build confidence with English communication (with teachers, with each other, and with English-speaking foreigners or guests)

• Improve speaking and listening comprehension

General English ( I )

(Grammar & Writing)

General English Part 1 is delivered to improve students’ grammar and writing. This course will improve grammatical accuracy and help the students make rapid progress in English through additional work on vocabulary, grammar and writing exercises such as paragraph writing, essay writing, descriptive writing, and story writing.

Objectives:

• Improve grammatical accuracy

• Increase writing skills

• Increase vocabulary in everyday usage

General English ( II )

(Listening & Reading)

General English Part 2 covers all aspects of four skills with focus on listening and reading. This course will improve the students’ English language skills and give them more professional and academic options in the future. This course focuses on comprehensive listening and reading on general topics.

Objectives:

• Forming a habit of reading in daily basic

• Identifying the aspects of book reviews

• Improve listening and reading skills

English Through Bible

(World English Bible)

This course will help the students strengthen their facility of the English language by reading worksheets and stories from the Bible. Scriptures references on young Bible heroes will inspire the youth to develop the habit of Bible reading as they experience and encounter the Bible in new and exciting ways.

Objectives:

• Develop the habit of reading Bible

• Exercise English from the familiar Bible stories

• Improve vocabulary and reading skills

English for Higher Education

(Introduction of TOEFL & IELTS)

This course will give opportunities for the students to undergo exhaustive English test exercises, learn techniques, strategies and different forms of Tests; TOEFL and IELTS. They will develop confidence in taking tests in preparation for their higher education or study abroad.

Objectives:

• Explore the importance of taking TOEFL or IELTS

• Identify the structure and system of the tests

• Practice the tests for all four skills

Academic Writing

(Comprehensive Critical Writing)

This course is all about academic writing workshop designed to reinforce essay composition skills and introduce students to the practice of writing for academic purposes. It will develop and sharpen the professional writing skills and strategies of the students. This course therefore, covers sentence structure, paraphrasing, constructing an essay, writing summaries and reflections, etc.

Objectives:

• Develop English writing skills for academic studies and other purposes

• Practice to write creatively and correctly

• Express their feelings, thoughts, and themselves in writing form

Cornerstone English Speaking

(English Language: Speaking and Listening)

This course will give opportunities for the students to enhance different levels of learning, which composed of all different sets of skills; speaking, listening, grammar focuses and writing notes based on the biblical stories and truths. They will develop confidence in taking tests in preparation for their higher education or study abroad.

Objectives:

• Students will learn bible stories

• Practice the excersies for all four skills

• Enhance comprehensive language skills

Academic Reading

(Comprehensive Critical Writing)

This course is all about academic reading powered by National Geographic Learning (Reading Explorer), to reinforce reading comprehension skills and introduce students to the reading techniques for educational and knowledgeable purposes. It will develop and sharpen professional reading skills and strategies for reading exams. Therefore, this course covers a lot of wonderful interesting topics in nature relations and world living and eco-friendly, etc.

Objectives:

• Develop English Reading skills for academic studies and other purposes

• Practice reading and build creative imagination and critical thinking

• Practices build-in reading exercises to enhance reading activities toward reading hobbies.
