My grandparents kept a garden. Especially my grandpop, Jesse. Some of my favorite memories of him are of him in the garden tilling the soil and giving us fresh cucumbers from his garden to slice and we'd let them swim in vinegar and salt!
As an adult during some of the toughest moments in my life the Holy Spirit always reminds me to focus on the things that man did not create. There's a beautiful flow to life and nature has a way of teaching us if we let it! The little gardens tucked into the corners of our yard have become quiet sanctuaries for my soul; always calling me back outside, inviting me to breathe, to slow down, and to share in the beauty of God’s creation with my children.
Seed gardens can also:
make gardening accessible so families can grow fresh food without worrying about the cost to get started.
protect special varieties; especially heirloom seeds and plants.
to build community. Families like us can share tips, swap stories, and sometimes even life lessons they've learned through gardening.
Browse the collection. It's small for now because my girls and I have just started this but we are excited to share so just pick what you want to grow from our growing list.
Fill out the form in it's entirety and make a donation to contribute to shipping. We will ship them to the address you provide.
Be sure to research the seeds you select and probably sow during the correct season.
Plant them, take care of the crop and be blessed by watching what you've planted come to life.
When the season is over, save a few seeds from the plants you grew and return some to us so another family can enjoy them too. Harvesting the seeds is easier than you think.
Full disclosure: I’m an amateur gardener with dirt under my nails and my Grandma on standby! I’m growing right alongside our gardens, so if you notice anything I’ve missed or mixed up, I’m always happy to learn.
