As the new year rolls in, may we all be sensitive to our minds, bodies and get prepared to find strategies to say goodbye to all that drains our true sense of being as God has intended for us to thrive.
Dear Anxiety
By Sherrie Wilkins
You’ve stolen moments from me.
I know I can’t get them back now.
And no it’s not alright but you can have them.
I wish to move forward into better days without you.
You can not come.
The conundrum is that you don’t fit.
You had plans to chew me up and spit me out and honestly some days it felt that you were gnawing at my life profusely.
I’ve fast-forwarded into today.
I’ve promised myself that I won’t allow you to get into the way of new memories! They’ll be stuck with me. Because I’m sending you on your merry way.
I wish I could banish you into the fields of nowhere so there won’t be any people there for you to smother.
But, I’ll pray for them as I pray for me, that they’ll only be better days ahead for us to see - without you!
