Our girl discovered Playdough just like most kids discover new toys out in these 2023 streets... on YouTube. Therefore, we have set out to incorporate play-dough in our playtime.
For her 4th birthday my husband made edible play-dough. We found a recipe online but, found that it wasn't the right consistency. He tweaked the recipe and the kids really enjoy playing with and eating small bits of it.
4 Cups of Powered Sugar
15 Ounces of Funfetti Frosting (I container)
My husband says that it's best for you to combine the ingredients with a plastic spatula and then mix with your clean hands to get the consistency of real Play-doh. As you can see this recipe is full of sugar therefore, give it to your children in small batches. For us this recipe will only be used for special days like birthdays. I'd recommend throwing it out after playing with it.
I found these really cool Play-doh mats from another blog called The Aloha Hut. We really enjoyed using them and will laminate them to use when we decide to rotate Playdoh into our play time.
