"Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong."
Ephesians 3:17 NLT
"They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by the long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing."
Jeremiah 17:8 NLT
Back at my New Jersey home, my gardening is let’s just say beautifully experimental. I accidentally (okay, maybe on purpose 🤣) planted heirloom pumpkins right in the front yard. I’m the kind of gardener who follows curiosity like a compass, going with whatever seeds are handed to me or whatever impulse strikes at the moment. Years ago, a sweet woman from my former church community gifted us a generous variety of vegetables from her Delaware garden. That gift truly became the harvest that keeps on giving. It’s wild to think I’m still growing food from seeds gathered from those vegetables...
"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing."
