So we felt that the largest issue with pets currently was in combat regen. Some of them were regenning 3-4x as fast as the old live epic pets. I believe this was done because the code did not handle out of combat regen for pets.
We added out of combat regen for pets and we can tweak that as we go forward.
However, in combat regen now matches that of NPCS. You're going to see pets take more damage and I think that is realistic. Yes, you won't be able to take as many mobs and perhaps not as high. I think getting pets into line so that melee don't feel useless trumps that.
NPCs will also now regen when they are not engaged. This means that the spirit pet from the spirit quest in stonebrunt should be far more useful to non-healers.
Telling pets to sit will also generate further regen.
