According to retired physical educator Roger Wolfson, when people think about the most important reasons for a lifestyle change, most of them have something to do with their immune system and the coronavirus. But even before the global health crisis, Roger Wolfson was already urging people to practice health and fitness in everything they do.
Below, Roger Wolfson shares three reasons to adopt a fit and healthy lifestyle.
To enjoy more adventures
Imagine a group of friends going on a trip that entails a lot of walking, hiking, and carrying of their own backpacks. It’s physically demanding. Anyone who isn’t fit won’t last an hour doing all the things their fitter friends are doing. However, if they’re fit, Roger Wolfson mentions that it’ll be more likely that the whole trip won’t be an unpleasant experience for them.
Yes, being fitter allows people to enjoy more adventures in life.
To experience regular natural highs
On a more scientific note, Roger Wolfson explains that regular workouts lead to natural highs. Exercise causes the brain to release endorphins, which makes people feel better and relieves them of a lot of stress.
To achieve a better look
Some people say looks aren’t important. Roger Wolfson mentions that nine out of the ten people he trained in the past wanted to do so to look better, and to fit in old clothes. Looking better may only be secondary to being fit and healthy, but make no mistake about it, it is a big deal.
