According to former physical fitness educator Roger Wolfson, out of all the exercises, there are four that every fitness enthusiast should master. These are the main movements that most trainers regard to as the greatest exercises in the world.
The Squat: At first glance, squats look like they focus heavily on the legs down. But done correctly, squats also hit the more muscles big time, as well as the upper body. This is one of the most effective strength-building exercises.
The Deadlift: Probably beating out the squat in terms of full-body power boosting, the deadlift is the power move of power moves. It strengthens almost every back muscle as well as the core, arms, and shoulders.
The Push-Up: Push-ups are done by almost everyone in almost every health and fitness activity simply because it works. From military exercises to physical education classes, push-ups are done to the limit. As far as body weight exercises go, the push-up is one of the two kings, with the next exercise on this list.
The Pull-Up: Roger Wolfson explains that of all the exercises listed, the pull-up is arguably the hardest to master because it's the hardest to do. Completing a fully, unassisted pull-up is a sign that a person has reached a significant strength level.
