Meet Carter

Meet Carter the friendly bear cub who resides in Political Party. Carter represents the threat the American people see in Communism; the more the American people fear Communism the more he evolves. At the end of WW1 the fear of Communism was starting to grip the American people; due to this, Carter was born. Since this is still the beginning of the Red Scare, Carter is relatively small and harmless.

In the first evolution of Carter’s character, he grows significantly larger due to the increasing fear of Communism in the American people. This is attributed to the anarchist bombings in Chicago during 1919. The color of his fur loses its dark brown color in favor of a reddish brown.

In his second evolution, Carter’s physical change is readily apparent as he evolves from a more docile brown bear to a hostile red bear. This is caused by the Palmer Raids as the Red Scare in America has reached its climax and anxiety is widespread throughout United States citizens.
