Meet Beckett Yates

Beckett Yates was a stockbroker in the 1920s. In this first iteration of his character, Yates is lean, but not too skinny. He is slightly muscular, but not brawny, and average height. He has been living well as a stockbroker because the market has been pretty steady the past few years. He has been able to afford good, nutritious food but also has enough free time to walk to work each day and stay fit.

In the first evolution, or second iteration of his character, Yates has put on a large amount of weight. The stock market has begun to steadily climb, meaning that Yates is more rich than before. Because of this increase of wealth, Yates can purchase more luxurious food more often and even opened his own speakeasy. Since he has more money, Yates decided to purchase an extravagant car, a 1925 Rolls-Royce, which meant that he no longer walked to work every day. With the increase of luxurious, fattening food and less exercise, Yates became more heavy set than before.

In the second evolution, or final iteration of his character, Yates has lost more weight than he had put on. Given the stock market crash of 1929, Yates lost all of his money, his house, his car, and his entire wealth. Given the lack of the necessary requirements to live, Yates lost all of the weight gained in his first evolution and became even more skinnier than his first iteration. His face has jowls from the skin that lost muscle and fat behind it, and none of his past clothings can fit him anymore, given his smaller waist and chest size.
