Class Name: BE/EE/MedE 189 a (Design and Construction of Biodevices)
Institution: Caltech (Undergrad)
Project Duration: April 2024
Project Description: Developed an Arduino-based spectrophotometer to monitor an enzyme reaction.
Image of my spectrophotometer reading a cuvette.
Curve obtained from the reaction of my spit and starch-iodine.
My spectrophotometer measures the light intensity of a cuvette placed inside of it. It was used to monitor a half-hour reaction between my spit and starch-iodine, where the amalyse in my spit caused the solution to become more and more transparent over time.
Arduino and Python code here. Project report below.
Device calibration using truth values (in this case, obtained from a commercial spectrophotometer)
Creating a Bokeh app with Python and Arduino
Analog circuit design
