In-text citation, as part of ASCE Citation Style, uses the author-date method of citation. The cited publications are listed by the last names of the authors and the year, e.g., (Sankaran et al. 2022; Sankaran and Chakraborty 2021).
You can use Mendeley to install the ASCE citation style
In Mendeley, you can add citation style
To use your new style:
Mendeley > View > Citation Style > More Styles
Select Get More Styles in Mendeley Desktop and Install (refer to the first picture/screenshot)
You can use the Microsoft Word plug-in “Mendeley Cite-O-Matic” to start using the ACSE Referencing Style for your manuscript.
Note:
Some journals would have a specific format of referencing style to be used. For example, refer to the 2nd figure to use ASCE-ASME Journal of Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems, Part A Civil.
