• This artifact is an essay about the contextual factors of my pre-student teaching placement school.

Connection to Standard:

• This artifact connects to indicator 8A: "The competent teacher understands schools as organizations within the larger community context."  The artifact connects to this indicator because I identified contextual factors related to the area around the school and the community population around the school and what that means for instruction.

What I Learned:

• By writing this paper, I learned how to consider the contextual factors of a school, how contextual factors impact instruction, and how to identify actions that I would take to meet students' needs.

Artifact Description:

• This artifact is a math quiz that I administered to my students and shared with other teachers during my student teaching experience in a second-grade classroom.

Connection to Standard:

• This artifact connects to indicator 8M: "The competent teacher uses digital tools and resources to promote collaborative interactions."  The artifact connects to this indicator because I used Google Drive to collaborate with other teachers during my student teaching experience.

What I Learned:

• By creating and sharing this artifact with other teachers through Google Drive, I learned that teachers are able to easily support each other by sharing resources electronically through programs like Google Drive.
