At the beginning, the Faculty was enrolled 141 students. In 2002 E.C. the faculty was reorganized to the College level and due to cease of Faculty of Education some departments (Applied Geography and Geography education) were merged and other departments like History, English and Amharic were incorporated under it. Since then, a number of departments were opened (Civic and Ethical studies during its establishment) and by this time over 3,184 students were enrolled as regular, summer and extension of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs.
The college aspires to become one of the leading colleges in the country in utilizing Cultural values for conservation of Natural resources and development in 2025
