Frequently Asked Questions

Universal Rule for Board Games - Players Decide Ambiguity: If players ever arrive at a situation not covered in the rulebook, and the rules offer no definitive answer, then players should feel free to decide what happens.

Q: On a roll of 10 on even strength the result is a turnover if the defense has a square. I’m assuming since it says no line change it means there is no time advance no matter what the outcome is. Is this assumption correct?

A: Correct, no time advance.

Q: If I’m not playing the empty net rule for slow whistles does the power play still occur if the penalty was on the defense and the offense scored on the slow whistle?

A: If it is a minor penalty, there is no power play if the offense scores on a delayed penalty. However, indoor LAX rules allow for multiple goals before going back to even-strength on a major penalty. Therefore there would still be a power play following a delayed penalty goal if a major penalty was called.

Q: Just a clarification on the scissors ratings, the only time they are ignored is on the power play; in other words, even when a team has momentum the scissors are still used. Is that correct?

A: Correct.

Q: A team gains Momentum after scoring a goal. Does that include power play goals, or only even strength goals?

A: From Keith: Any goal gains momentum.
