What is a Sigil?
A sigil is a unique symbol or design that is created and charged with magical intent to achieve a specific purpose. The process of creating a sigil often involves condensing a desired outcome or intention into a visual representation, typically through a process of symbolic abstraction. Once the sigil is created, practitioners use various methods to charge it with energy, aligning it with their magical intention. Sigils are then employed in rituals, spellcasting, or meditation as a focal point for concentrating magical energy and aiding in the manifestation of the intended goal or desire.
In the town of Ashmore, Sigils can be used in different ways. As long as the spells/charms/potions that you have created follow with the Unnatural Lore you can use how to use them. Often they are used to activate your spells/charms/potions when you are ready to use them.
You will have to create the sigil. The sigils (even the permanent ones) will need to be charged after use or at the end of the month if they have not been used.
DESTRUCTIVE SIGILS
These are sigils that are activated when they are destroyed. Writing on paper or carved into wood and burn.
Example: Throwing a glass on the floor that has the sigil on it. When it shatters the sigil is activated.
TEMPORARY SIGILS
These sigils eventually disappear. They can be activated by a word or an action.
Example: writing the sigil on top of a candle. When the candle is lit it eventually melts away the spell will end.
PERMANENT SIGILS
These are ones that you put down for long-time use. They are activated by a word or action. These sigils need to be recharged after they are used or at the end of each month. Example: These sigils are painted on floors and covered over with carpet.
PARTIALLY DRAWN SIGILS
You can leave a sigil partially drawn, then when you are ready to use it you can finish the drawing. This with the activation word will activate the sigil. This prevents others from using your sigils as well.
Example: A sigil is writing or tattooed on a body part but a part of the sigil is missing. To activate this sigil you need to finishing the drawing with a permanent marker.
Drabarni - A sigil can be drawn on a person to help stop pain.
Ofisa - A sigil can be used on the back of an ouija board or on tarot cards to help maintain a better connection.
Chiliko - A sigil can be drawn representing the place you wish to astral project to. When activated it will increase your speed in arriving there.
Armaya - A sigil can be used to prolong an illusion after the phral has left the room.
Amira- A sigil can be used to activate the hex when it is ready to be used.
Mulengi Dori - A sigil can be drawn that will darken a room when activated if danger is present.
1. Set your intentions - write a sentence with your goal on a piece of paper
2. Simplify your statement - use a pen, remove vowels, and then repeat letters
3. Create a design - use the remaining letters to create a unique design
4. Draw the design on a clear surface you can do this on a paper
5.. Charge your sigil.
The sigil I create in this hour,
Reflects my growth and inner power.
Through the work I've done and learned,
Knowledge within me has brightly burned.
WORD TO THE WISE:
Sigils can be made with any materials, paint, markers, salt, etc. They should be hidden if they are permanent sigils. For those unfamiliar with them they could be considered dangerous.
.LIMITS:
Sigils have a one-time use so they need to be recharged after each use or need to be recharged once a month if not activated.
Sigils are activated with the use of a word or an action
If the Sigil is destroyed you have to make a new one.
A person can break a sigil by attacking the magic or destroying the sigils.
Yes, you can make the same charm into a sigil (tattoo).
The sigils are made the same way as the charm and have the same limitations as their counterpart charm.
Sigils must be recharged. If they are not they become tattoos. Nothing is permanent
The tattoo sigil will count against your charm count (only 2 charms at a time)
If you have a power-blocking charm and a power-blocking sigil they will cancel each other out. ( If you make an anti-glamor tattoo. you will not be able to wear an anti-illusion charm.
If a sigil tattoo is removed. It will hurt. Best not to let others know about it. The more people that know.. the more likely it will be removed.
There is a workaround for the power-blocking charms/sigils....
Create the sigil but do not finish drawing it.. Have a missing line or a circle that connects it all. (you will do this on the full moon)
Carry a marker/pen or something that writes with you. When you are ready to use that sigil or think you may need it. Finishing the drawing. Push in your magic and say the incantation or activation word. The sigil will become active.
Once you have finished. Deactivate the sigil with a word or incantation and remove the line. (the sigil will need to be recharged after this.

OOC NOTE:
CONSENT CONSENT CONSENT. When using sigils, that react with other players you need to let the player know before they enter the scene. If they have entered the scene then talk to them OOC before putting it into play.
o consider spending a lot of time with the pet so you can build that bond.
