The purpose of this project was long term effects of some of the field consolidants used in archaeological settings. The first thing was to document the archaeological antler heavily so that slight changes can be noted in the future once the consolidant has been added. A dilute contact cement was used as the consolidant. Diluted with acetone. This was chosen because of the use of it as a consolidant in north American and south American on site archaeological sites. This is because of its cheap availability. This will be used to monitor over the years to check the long-term effects of this adhesive on the use of organic materials.
