I attended the Master of Art Conservation program at Queen's University from September 2016 to August 2018. This two year program has two options, either the research stream or treatment stream. I participated in the treatment stream which has a specialization in either paintings, paper or artifact conservation. I took part in the artifact conservation stream which is subdivided into terms based on material. These sub-sections can be seen in the drop down menu of this section.
I am partial to glass and stone with animal products and textiles being a close second. I found metals and plant materials to be more difficult during this course, however, they offered interesting challenges to overcome. Over the duration of this program I have had the opportunity to gear my practical experience towards areas that interest me. Many of the indigenous objects I had worked on were of my own pursuit and taking initiative by asking my supervisor for such objects. My supervisor, Amandina Anastassiades, was very accommodating to my interests and she is one of my inspirations in this field.
