The teacher can set the start and end dates for course assignments. The start date only needs to be used if you are wanting the assignment to become available on a specific date (this does not tie to a due date). This is useful for unit and semester tests as well as making entire units accessible on a set date. End dates are used to lock assignments and tests on the school-wide lock dates. The method below works well for setting up your course at the beginning of the semester, where you can set dates in one place. Start and end dates can also be set in: Content, the Plan, Manage Quizzes and Assignments for each item individually.
Important!!! If you give an end date to a grade item, students will still be able to access the item, but the assignment is no longer available to be viewed in the gradebook.
Go to TOOLS -- Course Admin.
Click Manage Dates under Site Resources.
Filter Tools by selecting Specific Tools and Assignments and/or Quizzes (some courses may need to select Grades to include lesson quizzes).
Click Apply Filter.

To set end dates: Check each box next to the items that has the same end date.
