Teachers may need to add lessons or modules to their course. For example, create a USA test prep lesson in order to add the link and due date. This reminds students of this requirement while providing students with an easy to find link.
Important! Teachers must remember to open their lessons in the content for students to see them. Teachers will ensure that the content item says, “published” instead of “draft”.
Go to CONTENT in your course menu bar.
To create a new lesson sub-module: At the bottom left panel, add the name of the lesson/unit you would like to create and click Enter.
Your lesson will appear at the bottom of the list in the left hand panel. You can then drag the box to place it within a unit or to reorder it within the curriculum.
This is used to direct a student to an assignment or activity in an external source i.e. Gizmos, USATP, STAR360.
Click on the Upload/Create button and then Create a Link.
Fill in the title and paste the URL.
Make sure “Open as External Resource” is checked.
Click Create.

Note: Make sure to toggle Visibility when you want students to see the quiz.
Click on Quiz Setup

Click Add - New Question, then select the type of question you would like to add.
Place Question Text and answer choices if applicable.
Modify the Points (i.e. 4 points) then click Save.
Continue adding questions as needed.
Once you have added all questions, select Back to Settings for... at the top of the screen.
Click on the Assessment tab
If you have not already created a grade item click the [add a grade item] hyperlink. Note: Make sure to scroll down and change the point value, it is always defaulted to 10 points in the gradebook. The point values in the quiz will not override this. You must indicate the point value in the grade item. If you saved the grade item and did not change the point value it can be corrected by going to GRADES - Manage Grades.
If you have created a grade item choose it from the drop-down menu.
Make sure you click the checkbox “Allow automatic export to grades”. If this is not checked scores will not move to the gradebook once graded.
"Allow attempt to be set as graded immediately upon completion" should be selected for all computer graded quizzes. If there are written response questions or any other question that must be graded by the teacher, DO NOT check this box. Doing so will show students a grade based only off the computer graded questions and will cause unnecessary panic.
Click Save and Close
Double check that you have made the quiz visible to students.
Open Source Modules (OSM) such as instructional recordings available on the internet by sources like Khan Academy, may also be included in the course content. These recordings provide “synchronous-like” instruction. OSM’s work well in a “flipped” classroom where students receive instruction via a recording before the Class Connect; then at the live CC session (truly synchronous) the class discusses material and works through problems (does “homework”).
Some teachers create a module for such videos in Content. Others insert videos into the curriculum where it applies. Teachers may wish to create their own recordings on various topics much like the Khan Academy videos. These new instructional materials can go beyond what the vendor learning software provides focusing more precisely on Oklahoma Standards. They can also apply K12 pedagogy such as SOLO. These modules can be posted or embedded within the course content or in announcements.
Courses that are state-assessed may have recordings available for students to view in preparation for the state assessment.
